MG has been awarded a grant for the project “Women-Led Climate-Act” from the Swedish Institute

MG has been awarded a grant from Swedish Institute for the project WomenLed ClimAct.
The project is carried out in partnership with four Turkish organizations: Kapaklı Municipality, Lüleburgaz Governorship, Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Campus Civil Society Association. Together, these partners combine expertise in engineering, sustainability, governance, civil society, and entrepreneurship.

The main aim of the project is to strengthen women’s leadership capacities in climate action and sustainability. To achieve this, the project will establish Women’s Climate Councils, provide structured training, and create opportunities for women to actively contribute to local and national climate policies. In addition, the project contributes to Türkiye’s Climate Change Strategy (2024–2030) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Key activities include training sessions with Swedish experts on advocacy, media literacy, and policy-making, as well as workshops on renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and urban sustainability. The project also involves the establishment of three Women’s Climate Councils and the implementation of nine women-led pilot climate projects. Knowledge exchange and networking activities between Türkiye and Sweden will further strengthen the project’s impact.
