Maximization of PVT collectors efficiency

PVT4EU

Overview

Photovoltaic Thermal For Europe (PVT4EU) advances in new optical concepts, thermal and electrical management strategies, and innovative control systems solutions are paths to enabling improvements in performance, especially when coupled with an effective integration into larger energy systems featuring also other components such as heat pumps and adsorption chillers.

MG Contribution

Participating in this high-technology EU project allows MG to radically improve its knowledge on smart energy control techniques and methods in the context of farming applications as well as gain the livestock farming insight required to invest with confidence and precision in the expansion to this market. MG will re-design their collector and installation system to match industry requirements. Additionally, by participating in this consortium MG will receive feedback from cooperative parties. This will increase credibility and allow access to valuable state-of-the-art scientific know-how and market intelligence to further aid in MG’s goal of increasing PVT market penetration.

Progress and Impact

The technological feasibility of the PVT4EU technologies will be extensively studied with a strong methodological structure through five phases within the project: Design and Development, Modeling, Prototyping and Testing, Integration, and Impact Evaluation. PVT4EU generates impact in a multitude of areas and sectors. It can be grouped into 5 different main impact groups relating to technological, economic, environmental, and societal impacts.

This project has been granted by the Clean Energy Transition Partnership Programme (project ID. CETP-2022-00403). The work is supported by national funds through, Sweden: Swedish Energy Agency (P2023-00884); Denmark: Innovation Fund Denmark (3112-00010B); and Portugal: FCT- Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P. (CETP/0004/2022)
